Hello everyone,
Recently, the pastoral team initiated a comprehensive exploration of “The Three Angels Message” as seen in the Book of Revelation. This week, Pastor DeSilva will expound on the third Angel message. The theological significance of the three angels flying in mid-air with the eternal gospel, as described in the Book of Revelation, underscores their divine mandate to proclaim this message to all inhabitants of the earth. This proclamation is intricately linked to the eschatological framework of preparing humanity for the imminent return of Christ.
Today, let’s delve into the question, “Who are the righteous angels that God sent to us?” Did you know that a guardian angel is appointed to every follower of Christ? These heavenly watchers shield the righteous from the power of the wicked one. Even Satan recognized this when he said: “Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast, not Thou made a hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?” Job 1:9, 10. The agency by which God protects His people is presented in the words of the psalmist: “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.” (Psalm 34:7 KJV)
God’s angels are continuously appointed to watch over us. If we place ourselves under their guardianship, they will be at our right hand in every time of danger. When we risk exerting a negative influence, the angels will guide us toward a better path and influence our actions. Thousands upon thousands guard us against evil and push back the powers of darkness that seek our destruction. We must be thankful every moment, even when we face apparent difficulties. As Ellen White said, “Every true child of God has the cooperation of heavenly beings. Invisible armies of light and power attend the meek and lowly ones who believe and claim the promises of God. Cherubim and Seraphim, angels that excel in strength, stand at God’s right hand.” These angels are beings of immense strength. You remember how the angel came to Jesus’ tomb, and the Roman soldiers fell like dead men before the glory of his countenance; and if one angel could work with such power, how would it have been if all the angels with us had been present? Remember, as you go through challenging times, you are not alone. Could the curtain be rolled back, you would see the righteous angels fighting for you. The Bible says, “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
One of my favorite Scriptures is Psalm 34:7: “The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.” God commissions His angels to save His chosen ones from calamity, to guard them from “the pestilence that walketh in darkness” and “the destruction that wasteth at noonday.” Psalm 91:6. Angels talk with men as a man speaks with a friend and leads them to places of security. Again and again have the encouraging words of angels renewed the drooping spirits of the faithful and, carrying their minds above the things of earth, caused them to behold by faith the white robes, the crowns, the palm branches of victory, which overcomers will receive when they surround the great white throne. Appreciating the celestial work of God’s righteous angels among us is paramount. We acknowledge their perpetual presence and unwavering commitment to safeguard us as we wait for Christ’s second coming.
God bless you! Happy Sabbath!
