Hello Church Family,

Today, I want to delve into a topic that holds immense significance for all of us- the care and nurturing of our children. The early years are crucial, as they set the foundation for the child’s character. The lessons learned in the first seven years of life profoundly impact their future. Sabbath School teachers can impart truth to children, who carry it into their homes. The practical teaching methods used in regular schools can also be applied in Sabbath schools, leading to similar positive outcomes. This approach can guide children to Jesus and educate them in biblical truths.

Parents you play a pivotal role in your children’s spiritual education and training for Jesus Christ. They must be trained to resist temptation and to fight the good fight of faith. Parents must direct their children’s minds to Jesus as soon as they can comprehend lessons in simple words that are easy to understand. Teach them self-control. Teach them to begin the work of overcoming when young, and they will receive the precious help that Jesus can and will give, connected with the prayerful efforts of parents. Cheer them with encouraging words for the battles they fight in resisting temptation and coming off conquerors through the grace of Jesus Christ. Let love, tenderness, patience, and self-control be the law of your speech when speaking with your children. Christ performed acts of love and tenderness for the children throughout His life. Let us remember that fathers and mothers who make God first in their households, who teach their children that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, glorify God before angels and before men by presenting to the world a well-ordered, well-disciplined family, a family that love and obey God instead of rebelling against Him. Angels delight in a home where God reigns supreme, and the children are taught to reverence their Creator. Such families can claim the promise: “Them that honor Me, I will honor.” Parents must invest time engaging with their children, facilitating meaningful conversations that foster understanding and connection. A nurturing environment is essential for developing a robust parent-child bond characterized by affection, support, and guidance. This relationship forms a critical foundation for children’s emotional and social development. As a church family, our role is immensely important. Let us commit to getting to know the children in our congregation and keeping them in our prayers. Your support and prayers are invaluable to their spiritual growth. When you encounter a child in the hallway today, take a moment to greet them and remind them that they are cherished and loved by Jesus. As our children sing today, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. May we continue to uplift our children and all children worldwide in our prayers.
