Pastor’s Corner: Communion in Action

Pastor Benjamin Kim

We gather. Nothing changes.
We pray. We watch the clock.
They prayed. The room shook.

So, what’s different?

We sit next to each other… but we don’t know their name.
We sing the same songs… but the words don’t move us anymore.
We show up every week… but some are still unsure of their salvation.
We gather… but we don’t belong.
Maybe we’ve been in the same room… but not of the same heart.

In Acts 4, the believers were one in heart and mind.
No one claimed anything as their own.
They didn’t just gather… they belonged to each other.
And when they prayed… the place shook.

Maybe the room shook because
something inside them finally broke open…
and what emerged was a people
ready to be filled… and sent.
Like a cocoon breaking open—
what was once separate
could finally live… together.

Unity is not just gathering together… it is giving up “mine” so that something greater can become “ours.”
This is what “Communion in Action” looks like.
Not just praying side by side—but living heart to heart.
Not just attending—but belonging.

This Youth & Young Adult Week of Prayer is not just another event.
It is an invitation.
To move from routine… to revival.
From presence… to participation.
From being in the same room… to becoming one in heart.
And maybe—just maybe—
when we truly come together…
God will do what He has always done.

He will fill His people.
And He will make us bold.

Communion in Action.

“After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.” (Acts 4:31-32).
