Here’s a letter from Janice Smith, Community Engagement Coordinator at ADRA Canada.
I hope you are doing well.
Hunger is a problem that affects people in Canada and throughout the world. Today, almost 768 million people go hungry, and it has gotten worse since the COVID-19 Pandemic. This year ADRA wishes to engage youth groups across Canada through our annual Ration Meal Challenge. We want to educate young people about the realities of hunger and inspire them to be agents of change.
The ADRA Ration Meal Challenge is an opportunity for young people to learn about the difficult circumstances millions of children like themselves face every day. We encourage them to take the Challenge by using simple ingredients to create three ration-sized meals that will sustain them for 24 hours while raising funds to feed the hungry around the world!
Please include our 2021 Ration Meal Challenge poster found here in your bulletins and share it with your church family to encourage your youth and young at heart to participate.
We plan to release a Ration Meal Challenge toolkit on August 19, 2021, to churches across Canada to make this fundraising initiative an enjoyable and engaging learning opportunity. Please encourage your church family to participate.
