Greetings Church Family,
Praise God! He has granted us another Sabbath. Imagine a Hebrew family in Egypt on the night of the first Passover. The world outside is silent yet filled with fear. Inside their small home, a father gathers his children close as he marks their doorposts with the blood of a spotless lamb. The children do not fully understand, but the father gently whispers, “When the Lord sees the blood, He will pass over us.” They rest—not because the night feels safe, but because they trust the God who promised to protect them. That ancient scene was more than a moment in history. It was a living prophecy pointing to Jesus Christ, the true Lamb of God. Just as the blood on the door saved Israel’s homes, the blood of Jesus saves our hearts today.
The Passover and the Cross
Throughout Scripture, God revealed His plan of redemption step by step. The Passover was one of His clearest illustrations. When Jesus gathered with His disciples for the Last Supper, He revealed that He Himself was the fulfillment of the Passover promise.
- His body would be broken.
- His blood would be shed.
- Through Him, deliverance would come—not from Egypt, but from the bondage of sin.
The cross was not the end. The empty tomb declared victory. Because Jesus lives, every believer has hope beyond the grave. His resurrection is Heaven’s assurance that death will not have the final word. In Egypt, every family had to decide whether to apply the blood. Their safety did not depend on wealth, status, or knowledge—only on whether the blood was on the door.
Today, we find ourselves reflecting on a profound question: Has the blood of Jesus truly been applied to our hearts? In a time where the echoes of Christ’s return resonate all around us, we stand at the threshold of eternity. Soon, the Lamb who was once slain will return as the King of kings, and on that glorious day. This is a call to readiness. Jesus willingly remained on the cross, seeing each of us—our struggles, our failures, and our deep yearning for hope. He chose to face death so that we may choose life. Salvation has already been paid in full; grace is freely extended; the door of mercy remains open. Today, let us take the time to give thanks for the boundless love God has shown us. Let us reflect on what He has done to fill our lives with hope and the promise of eternal life. May we be found ready when Christ returns for His people. Amen.
Happy Sabbath!
