In Memoriam Linda Lister

Linda Lister
Linda Lister

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Lister family on the passing of Linda Lister, a cherished and valued member of our church family. Linda’s presence and faithful involvement in our children’s department and CAA were a blessing, and she will be deeply missed. Please keep the Lister family in your prayers during this difficult time as they mourn her loss and remember her life.

Here’s Linda’s obituary that we’ve received from her family.

Linda was born on May 5, 1943 in Toronto, ON and passed away on March 3, 2026, in Strathroy, ON. She is predeceased by her mom and dad, Nick and Luella Beckwith, and her husband Thomas (Tom) Lister in their 50th year of marriage.

She is survived by her sister, Sandi Nischuk of Canora, SK and her brother Glenn Beckwith (Diane) of Renfrew, ON. She is also survived by her children, Catherine Peterson (Alex) Thomas Lister (Susan) Pamela Tucker (Mike) and 3 grandchildren, Gregory (Katie), Christina, and Chase, as well as two great-grandchildren, Parker and Ryker and her nephew Scott Nischuk (Joy).

Linda is also survived by her best friend, Marilyn Collie (Mel). A friendship of 50+ years, they first met when working together and continued to get together until recently, when she physically could not manage. She will be greatly missed by Marilyn.

Linda was a member of Willowdale Adventist Church in Toronto, supporting the Crawford Adventist Academy in a
secretarial roll as well as working in the Church store. After she retired, Linda volunteered at the school, helping teachers with anything needed.

Linda believed that a Christian education was important and donated to the student funds available to help worthy students with their education. Most will know Linda had a passion for knitting. Many babies have snuggled in the blankets she made throughout the 50+ years she was able to knit.

While golfing was her husband’s passion, she took up the sport to spend more time with him and their group of friends, who had many fun-filled trips to Myrtle Beach for golf. From skiing holidays to golfing holidays, Linda biggest enjoyment was simply the time shared with them.

Heartfelt thanks to the Strathmere Lodge care team that looked after Mom. Never have we seen a more caring and compassionate team.

There will be a celebration of life for Linda, with her family and friends, at a later time. While Mom loved her garden and flowers, we ask, in lieu of a floral expression of love, donations to the Student Assistance Fund at Crawford Adventist Academy, the Canora Christian School, or a children’s charity of your choice in her memory is greatly appreciated.
